Who we are:
• Established in 1977, Bay Ship & Yacht, is a modern shipyard located on the waterfront of San Francisco Bay in Alameda, CA,
• We provide dry docking and repair services to most of the commercial and government vessels on the Bay, including: tugboats, ferries, Coast Guard cutters, cruise ships, pilot boats, yachts and marine vessels of all kind.
• Our workforce includes many skilled welders, painters, machinists, pipefitters, electricians, dock men and fabricators.

What you will do:
• The opportunity to develop detailed estimates, pricing and quotation documents for vessel repair work, as well as project development and planning.
• Be the primary point of contact for our customers, working closely to obtain all information regarding scope of the vessel repair.
• Compile and analyze the data on all factors that can influence costs such as materials, labor, subcontractors, location, and special machinery/schedule requirements.
• Create detailed estimates and pricing sheets that inform our customers of pricing ranges while simultaneously partnering with our project management team to keep them abreast of the following:
• All details of the upcoming repair
• The estimated cost and timeline of the repair
• The amount of man power needed to complete the repair in a timely and efficient manner

What you bring to our organization:
• A background in estimating and field inspection, preferably in commercial or government construction.
• The ability to read and interpret plans and technical specifications.
• Ability to determine a scope of work, estimates and customer submittals.
• Work well under pressure.
• Detail oriented, with strong negotiation skills.
• Stellar oral and written communication skills.
• A commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service.

Extra Credit For:
• Thorough knowledge of regulations, codes, and standards for vessel repair.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of ship repair work.
• Knowledge and experience with ship repair and/or boatbuilding.
