Draftsman/Machine Programmer

A division of Bay Ship & Yacht, Bay Machine and Fabrication, located on the beautiful waters of the Oakland Estuary, is seeking a highly motivated Draftsman/Machine Programmer to join our rapidly growing team. BMF is a full service manufacturing company specializing in large scale metal fabrication, precision machining, and industrial hydraulics. With over 60,000 square feet of dedicated space, we are uniquely qualified to support the heavy industries of the San Francisco Bay Area. As a member of the team, you will work closely with project managers, engineers and technicians to produce high quality parts to meet our clients' needs! No two days are alike!
Duties for the position include, but are not limited to:
- Generate shop drawings using Solidworks.
- Review drawing packages and verify manufacturing process can meet the tolerances required by customers.
- Provide programming for waterjets and plasma table.
- Work closely with shop managers, quality, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing personnel to solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of new projects.
- Generate reports and complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Competent with Solidworks; AutoCAD is a plus.
- 5 years related work experience, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (word, Excel, Outlook).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline is a plus.
