Bay Ship & Yacht Co., is a modern shipyard located on the waterfront of San Francisco Bay. We provide dry-docking and repair services to commercial and government vessels, including tugboats, ferries, Coast Guard cutters, cruise ships, pilot boats, yachts, and marine vessels of all kinds. As the Field Safety Manager, you will report to the Production Manager and be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring company safety programs and work practices to strengthen our safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance at the local, state, and federal levels.
 
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Status is required as well as Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) status.
 
You will lead the company’s team of Field Safety employees and work closely with the Environmental Manager – you will spend more than half their time in the field managing an effective and compliant safety program for all production crafts, shops and field activity, including safety standards, training, inspections and enforcement.

Your primary responsibilities will be Worksite Safety, Facilities and Equipment Safety, Injury and Illness Prevention management, staff and administration management. You must be able to work closely with senior leadership to assess current programs and policies and update, revise, streamline and create new programs, policies and procedures as appropriate.
