Bay Ship & Yacht Co., is a modern shipyard located on the waterfront of San Francisco Bay. We provide dry-docking and repair services to commercial and government vessels, including tugboats, ferries, Coast Guard cutters, cruise ships, pilot boats, yachts, and marine vessels of all kinds. As a Welder/Fabricator you will work closely with project managers, engineers, and technicians to produce high quality parts. No two days are alike!
Duties for the position include, but are not limited to:
- Precision weld aluminum, stainless, and steel components to support production schedule.
- Set-up and operate Press/Brake/Shear/Roll fabrication machinery.
- Read/Interpret process sheets, blueprints and engineering drawings to fabricate parts
- Work closely with production engineers to optimize product realization.
- Perform accurate inspections and verification of product utilizing basic Quality Assurance measuring tools and recording findings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 Years’ experience working in a metal fabrication shop or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to use shop fabrication equipment (Sheer, Press, Brake, Roll).
- Ability to successfully pass a welding verification skills test.
- Ability to weld with TIG, MIG, Flux Core, and Stick desired.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented, reliable, responsible, and be able to work independently.
- Should have your own personal hand tools to work within the craft.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current welding certification is a plus
- Previous work in an ISO 9001 fabrication shop is a plus
